Mr. Harris will always be remembered as the great 5th grade teacher who genuinely loved what he did. My mom was also a teacher at FAS and having roamed the halls there from a very young age I always remembered the great projects happening in his class. For many years 5th graders all wanted Mr. Harris so they could go to Walpack and get to dissect their own frogs, as for a long time his class was the only 5th grade that got to do those things. He loved his fish tank, I remember stopping by his room to watch the fish after school. I'll always remember the neon tree that lit his classroom window as you drove by the school at night during the holidays (when his room was in front). I only had him for fifth grade math, but I can say he made learning fun. I am sure there is a Harris dollar somewhere in my attic still. My sincere condolences to his family.
