Condolence: It was with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Perry Harris. He was a superior teacher who devoted himself to his students and his profession. A wonderful human being who always did his best. We will miss him and extend our profound sympathies to his family. May his memory be eternal!

Condolence: I was very sad to hear of Mr. Harris' passing. I was in his 5th Grade homeroom class in the late 1970's, and he is one of the few teachers who really stands out in my memory. He genuinely cared about his students and taught every subject with an equal mix of gravitas and humor. He actually made school fun, which I'm sure wasn't easy to do. I have very clear memories of his classroom and the various "props" he would use to illustrate the stories he told. He was the teacher that every kid wanted to have and every parent tried to request. I wish his family my deepest condolences. Sincerely, Jon Hoberman

Condolence: To the Harris Family, Jim and I extend our deepest sympathies to you all. We met Perry through our neighbors Ron and Millie Hanisch, and of course, I know about Perry's special connection with FAS as I was a teacher at Shore Regional H.S. I have been reading some beautiful entries on Facebook about Perry from his former students who all share similar sentiments: he was their favorite teacher, and they recall so many great memories from their association with him. This is a special legacy that will never be forgotten. Our prayers are with you at this sad time.

Condolence: Mr. Harris will always be remembered as the great 5th grade teacher who genuinely loved what he did. My mom was also a teacher at FAS and having roamed the halls there from a very young age I always remembered the great projects happening in his class. For many years 5th graders all wanted Mr. Harris so they could go to Walpack and get to dissect their own frogs, as for a long time his class was the only 5th grade that got to do those things. He loved his fish tank, I remember stopping by his room to watch the fish after school. I'll always remember the neon tree that lit his classroom window as you drove by the school at night during the holidays (when his room was in front). I only had him for fifth grade math, but I can say he made learning fun. I am sure there is a Harris dollar somewhere in my attic still. My sincere condolences to his family. May his memory live in your hearts forever. Fondly, Anna Garifine
