Charles A. Valentino, Jr., 58, of Long Branch, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at home. He was born in Long Branch and lived in West Long Branch before moving to Long Branch 10 years ago.
He worked for the Asbury Park Press, Neptune in the circulation and billing department for 21 years. He was a substitute teacher and a coach for the Long Branch Board of Education. He coached West Long Branch Little League. He was a 1970 graduate of Shore Regional High School, West Long Branch and Glassboro State College in 1974 with a BA degree in elementary education. He also taught at Holy Trinity School, Long Branch and St. Mary's School in Middletown. He was very religious and enjoyed many sporting events. He was a communicant of Christ the King Parish (Holy Trinity Church), Long Branch.
She was predeceased by his father, Charles Valentino, Sr., in 2003.
Surviving is his mother, Angela Scarano Valentino, his aunt, Mildred C. Scarano of Oakhurst and many cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 3 to 6 pm Thursday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Please meet at church on Friday for a 10:30 am Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch
