Anthony Maggio, 77, of Neptune City, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

He was born in Sant'Antimo(Naples, Italy), immigrated to this country in 1959 and lived in Neptune City the last 48 years ago.



He was an electrician with IBEW Local #400 in Wall for 22 years before retiring. He was a member, past president and past trustee of the Sons of Italy, Mt. Carmel Lodge 1216, Asbury Park, and former State Orator for the Grand Lodge of Sons of Italy. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Girolama Maggio and a sister, Nunziata.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years Josephine Storzieri Maggio; daughter, Patty DiFlorio and her husband Tony of Marlton, sons, Anthony A. Maggio and his companion Shannon of Wall and Antimo L. Maggio of Neptune; brother, Pasquale Maggio of Ocean; sisters, Angelina Maggio and Mina DiGirolamo both of Italy; 5 grandchildren, Danielle, Nick, Cristina, George and Augie; sisters-in-law and due to his warm, loving heart, many others who thought of him as a father.

He had a great passion for watching the Italian National Soccer team and his hometown club, Napoli, with family and friends. He loved to cook on Sundays and Christmas Eve and his kitchen was always open for all.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 am Friday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Asbury Park followed by entombment at St. Catharine's Mausoleum, Wall. Flowers will be accepted or donations in his memory may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, Post Office Box 820
