Childhood memories

I had many fond childhood memories of Gay. During the 1940's, at Ideal Beach we had multi-family Sunday dinners: the Fucci's; the Cantaloupo's; the Maresca's; the Freda's. We all enjoyed the homemade "from scratch" Raviolis; sauce cooking the whole day; meatballs.

Gay, Aline, and I went swimming at the beach. Mr. Kean, our neighbor, would pick up Gay and throw her in the water. At first, Gay was angry but later would laugh about it. Gay's friend, Elaine, would rent a row boat and were late bringing it back because they were having such a good time but me and Aline were still at the beach.

At night, Uncle Bill would take us to the amusement park in Keansberg on the weekends.We all enjoyed the Merry-Go-Round, Catepiller, Bumper Cars, and the Whip. We were too young to use the go-carts at the time.

Below I have submitted photos from such days: Ideal Beach; Sunday family dinners in Avon; and a couple of Gay and Russell as God-parents to my daughter, Nancy Ehrig.
