Condolence From: Tony Lupo
Condolence: Dear Gebrian Family: I would like to extend my condolences to the family. I first met Gerry as a student at Union Hill High School and then had the pleasure of working with him for many years. He set a high standard of excellence for students and always willing to help "new" teachers get started in their career. He was a dedicated individual who gave his heart and soul to Union Hill High School.
Sincerely, Tony Lupo

Condolence From: Brian Barrett
Condolence: I first met Gerry when I worked as a teacher's aide in the math dept of Union Hill HS in 1978. Gerry impressed me with his understated presence which stood in stark contrast to his tremendous personality. I was amazed how so many student's faces would light up with smiles when they saw Mr. G in the halls. He always had a good word of encouragement for everyone, always caring and always willing to share his time. Gerry was a true gentleman. Throughout my career as a Union City police officer, I would see Gerry occasionally walking to and from school, or along Bergenline Avenue. He would always stop to talk, to ask how I was doing. He was always so pleased when I told him I was doing well. Compassionate, empathetic, respectful and caring. He would have made a great cop! Rest in peace, Gerry!
