Theresa Vecchione Sassola, 81, of West Long Branch, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch.

She was born in Asbury Park and lived in Long Branch before moving to West Long Branch 44 years ago.

She was a communicant of the St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch and a member of the West Long Branch Republican, West Long Branch Beautification, West Long Branch PTA, West Long Branch Leisure Club, Long Branch Senior Center.

She was a secretary at Bendix in Eatontown and later worked at Steinbach's in Ocean Township.

Predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Antoinette Vecchione.

Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Marcel; son, Marcel Sassola III and his wife Keri of Santa Barbara, CA, daughters, Stephanie Sassola and her husband Andrew Struse of Navesink and Felicia Costantino and her husband Mark of West Long Branch; sister, Philomena Clark of Long Branch and 7 grandchildren, Michelle, Anthony, Mark, Parker, Gian, Isabella and Nico.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 7-9 pm Thursday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral 9 am Friday from the funeral home followed by at 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Jerome's Church, West Long Branch followed by burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
