Rosemary Canning,71, of West Long Branch died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Rosemary was born in Union City, NJ. She resided in Hoboken, Asbury Park and Eatontown before moving to West Long Branch. She worked as a nurse's aid for many years at St. Mary's Hospital in Hoboken before going to Fitkin Hospital, now Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Rosemary worked for ten years at Steinbach Distribution Center on Industrial Way West in Eatontown, before retiring.
She was a volunteer for Peter Cooper Village Seniors and Popular Village Seniors. She was a member of the Ocean Township Friendship Club.
She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1983, by her sister Ellen Huelbig and her brothers, George Koletis and Richard Lynskey.
She is survived by her children, Betty Ann and Wayne Calabretta, Pennie and Michael Boyer, Rosemary and Alex Loizos and Thomas and Susan Canning, 8 grandchildren, Tony, Jennifer, Michael, Jack, Jarred, Jeremy, Emily and Sarah and one great grandson, John; her sisters, Peggy and Cathy.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 9 am until her funeral service at 11 am Saturday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Burial will follow for family only. Please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com for condolences.
