Robert O. Parrish, 70, of Neptune, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune surrounded by his family.

He was born in Jersey City and lived in Rutherford, Carlstadt, Denville and Succasunna before moving to Neptune 11 years ago.

Bob was an electrician and started his career with UOP Chemical in East Rutherford, then with Hoffmann-LaRoche in Nutley and then with UMDNJ in Newark before retiring in 2012. He was a communicant and an active parishioner of St. Anselm's Roman Catholic Church in Wayside and also helped out at Center ala Cart in Asbury Park. He was a US Army veteran serving during Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing with his family and friends as well as going to the Avon beach.

He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Elsa Parrish.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Terry Parrish (nee Sorbera); daughter, Michele-Lee Parrish; son, Cordell and his wife Alice Parrish; 3 brothers, Raymond, Ritch and Jimmy Parrish; sister, Patricia DeBiase; 5 granddaughters, Emily, Ariana, Savana-Lee, Lucie and Lila. He was a beloved son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4 pm to 9 pm on Thursday at St. Anselm's Church, 1028 Wayside Road in Wayside. Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 am Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Center, 806 Third Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ 07712 or the Neptune First Aid Squad, 5 Neptune Blvd., Neptune, NJ 07753.
