Robert J. DeSarno, 69, of Oakhurst, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Long Branch to Michael DeSarno and Camilla Ciaglia DeSarno on Jan. 9, 1944. Robert worked for many years as a lineman for JCP&L, retiring in2005. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Deal.

He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 46 years, Jane (Fary); 2 sons, Robert "Paul" DeSarno and John DeSarno, both of Wilmington, NC; 3 brothers, Michael DeSarno of Charlotte, NC, William DeSarno of Tinton Falls, and Anthony DeSarno of Southport, NC; and 3 grandchildren, Gavin DeSarno, Sophia DeSarno, and Patrick DeSarno, all of Wilmington, NC.

Our family is so grateful for the love and support during this difficult time. We will never forget your kindness. We are thankful for our life together; he left us too soon we will miss him every day.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Ocean Township. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Deal. Interment will take place at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be made to the American Lung Association .
