Peter C. Sandilos, 85, of West Long Branch, died Friday, March 15, 2013 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.































Mr. Sandilos retired as Superintendent of the West Long Branch Public Schools in 1992 after 31 years. He started his teaching career at the North Wales Elementary School and then served as Principal from 1954 to 1957. He then became the Administrative Principal of the Tuckerton Public Schools from 1957 to 1961.































He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean Township, AHEPA, taught Sunday school at the church, served as past-president of the parish council for 3 terms and served on the council for 27 years. He was a member of the American Association of School Administrators, NJEA, the West Long Branch Public Library Board, former member of the West Long Branch Lions Club, former Eagle Scout Board of Review for the Boy Scouts, he was an adjunct professor in elementary education at Monmouth College in West Long Branch and volunteered at Fort Monmouth where he taught English as a second language.































He was born in Scranton, PA and lived in Ambler, North Wales, Landsdale, PA and Tuckerton before moving to West Long Branch in 1961.































































He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mary Sandilos and his brothers, James and George Sandilos.































































Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Romano Sandilos; son, Charles and his wife Tulla Sandilos of Cherry Hill, daughter, Marcina and her husband Evans George of Annadale, VA and a grandson, Peter Charles Sandilos

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst. Funeral Service will be offered at 10 am Wednesday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Ocean Township. Burial will follow at White Marsh Memorial Park, White Marsh, PA.
