Nieves Diaz, 85, of Long Branch died Friday at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch.

She was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and moved to Long Branch in 1970.

She was a communicant of the former St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch.

Predeceased by her husband, Victor in 1990 and her parents, Manuel and Maria Perez Diaz.

Surviving are her children, Juan Vasquez, Lydia Perez, Aida Gomez, Celia, Iris and Maria Vasquez and Ana Acevedo; brother, Alejandro Diaz and sister, Dominga Diaz; 25 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 pm Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 am Tuesday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Long Branch followed by burial at Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch.
