Michael Garrone, 66, of Long Branch, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at home.

He was born in Newark and lived there before moving to Long Branch.

He was a Marine veteran and served in Viet Nam as a Lance Corporal. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.



He was per-deceased by his Mother, Elise Capasso, Father, Salvatore Garrone, and Sister, Lucy Cosentino.

Survivors are: Niece, Toni Freeland; Great-Nephew, Aiden; Great-Niece, Lucy; Brother in law, Thomas Cosentino; and two children, Michelle and Michael.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 5 pm to 6 pm Saturday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. He will be buried at Arnlington national Cemetery, Arlington, VA. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com
