Marilyn A. McCourt, 53, died Tuesday June 12, at Jersey Shore Medical center in Neptune. Marilyn, born in French Hospital in Manhattan, was a lifelong NJ resident living in Newark and Belmar, where she had moved to live year-round. She was a graduate of Prospect Hill Country Day School in Newark, where she attended both grammar and high school. She was also a graduate of Caldwell College in Caldwell, NJ where she earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts and teacher certification. In addition to being a certified teacher, she worked in the advertising department for Modell's Sporting Goods for several years, where her brother Michael was an art director.

Her father, Robert E., died in 1988. Her mother, Assunta F. (Sue), and her brother, Michael, both died in 1998. She is survived by a brother, Robert. E. II, in Newport, RI and a sister, Mary Sue, in West Caldwell.

Funeral services (coordinated by the Fiore Funeral home in Ocean Twsp.) will be held at Van Tassel-Arthur K. Brown Funeral Home in Bloomfield on Saturday June 30, with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00AM, with an 11:00AM memorial service at the home, to be followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn's memory can be made to The St. Fancis of Assisi Church in NYC for the St. Francis Breadline, or a similar charity.
