Margaret Massaro

Margaret Massaro, 93, of High Point, NC, formerly of Eatontown, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020.
She was born in Camden, NJ and lived in Long Branch & Oceanport, NJ, Miami Beach, FL, and High Point, NC.
She was a secretary at Fort Monmouth for 15 years before retiring in 1975. Margaret was a communicant of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church in Eatontown.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Sam in 2001; her parents, Pasquale and Jennie Massaro and a sister, Rose Barricelli.
Surviving are her daughters, Carol Ann Hettel and Catherine Tucceri; 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 5-8 pm Thursday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 am Friday at St. Dorothea’s Church in Eatontown. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.

Nana, I must admit, that when I was first going to meet you I was terrified! I thought you were going to be a stern pure rooted Italian lady, when in fact you are s stern pure rooted Italian lady who accepted me for me. You were always so kind, and we always had amazing laughs and banter. I wish we lived closer so we could have spent more time together, including the babies getting to hang out with you. I am blessed with the memories of the time we spent together, as well as all of the kids being able to meet their great great grandmother. Please save me some chocolate in Heaven! I'm at peace knowing you're no longer in pain and celebrating life with everyone up there

Dear Carol and Cathy, so very sorry to hear about your loss. Mom was such a wonderful lady and we loved having her at our home in Asbury Park as well as dining and swimming at her home with your Dad. She was the epitome of class, elegance and a great person. Again, so sorry.
