Lillian Ruth Carter, known as Ruth throughout her life, died on February 21, 2011 at the age of 93. During the last months of her life she was a resident of Imperial Healthcare Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Neptune. She was a former resident of Asbury Tower, Asbury Park, North Fort Myers, FL and Long Branch. Ruth, along with her husband, was an active long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Long Branch and served as its financial secretary for many years. She was born on March 27, 1917 to Mrs. Lillian Elsie Bacon and the late George Bacon who died before her birth. She graduated with Special Honors from Long Branch High School in 1934, was married to Stephen E. Carter on October 12, 1941 and was employed in accounting/banking during their married life. Ruth was predeceased in death by her husband and son Richard and is survived by her 4 other children, Nancy (Mrs. Robert) Macik in TN, Christine Keeran in FL, David in NJ and Janet Rochford in FL, a daughter-in-law, Judith (Mrs. Richard) Carter and 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
