Obituary for Kalliope Athanasakos

Kalliope Athanasakos, 84, of Ocean Township, died on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
She was born in Homeri Nafpaktos, Greece and came to this country in 1950 living in Red Bank and Asbury Park before moving to Ocean.
She was an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean Township as well as the Philoptochos Society at the church.
She retired as a seamstress from Roxann Swimsuits in Neptune.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stelianos in 2000; her parents, Dimitrios and Efthemia Dania; sister, Sofia Skordas and son-in-law, Antonios Alexopoulos.
Surviving are her children, George Athanasakos, Tasia Alexopoulos, Effie and her husband Mario Buludis all of Ocean and Dimitra Athanasakos of Neptune; 7 grandchildren, Stikie and his wife Jill Buludis, Steve Buludis, Michael and his wife Lyndsey Buludis, Jimmy Buludis, Karen Buludis, Osia Alexopoulos and Alex Alexopoulos and 2 great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Nikolas.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 pm Wednesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Service 11 am Thursday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean Township followed by burial at St. George’s Cemetery in Neptune.
