Josephine Sokol, 84, a lifelong resident of Long Branch, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Imperial Healthcare, Neptune.
She was a member of the Long Branch Elks #742 and a past president of it ladies auxiliary and a member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW Post 2140 in Long Branch, member of the Long Branch Chapter of Deborah.
She was a home health aide for Family & Children Services in Long Branch before retiring. She was a foster parent to over 168 children over 43 years.
Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Sokol in 2004 and her parents, Samuel and Rosalie Mascera Andolino.
She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and friend.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-7 pm Saturday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834 or to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, Long Branch Chapter, PO Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
