Joseph G. Sekerzicky, 95, of Lincroft, Middletown, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank.



He was born in Hampton and lived in Newark and Long Branch before moving to Lincroft 12 years ago.



He was a baker at A&P in Newark from 1950 to 1975. He then worked at Wheaton Plastics in Lakewood for 8 years before retiring in 1984.



He was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church in Lincroft and a former member of the Fair Haven Senior Citizens Club. He was a decorated WW II Army veteran.



He was predeceased by his daughter, Dorothea Sekerzicky; his parents and a brother and 2 sisters.



Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Annette; 3 daughters, Joann Stevens, Fran North and Michele and her husband Richard Muir; step-son, Ben Boffard; 5 grandchildren, Angelique Sekerzicky, Nadine Stevens, Daniel, Justin and Patrick Muir and 5 great-grandchildren.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 am Thursday at St. Leo's Church, Lincroft. Burial will follow at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to mds-foundation.org/donate.
