John E. Renals, 85, of Eatontown, died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at home.

He was born in Long Branch and moved into the home he built in Eatontown in 1960.

He worked at Fort Monmouth as a drawing technician for 17 years before retiring in 2004. Prior to that, he worked at EAI in West Long Branch for 34 years as a group leader and draftsman. He was a communicant of St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown and a member of the Eatontown Borough Shade Tree and Environmental Commissions. He also worked at the Eatontown Nursery. He also built model airplanes for training pilots during the wars. He served in US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna Scarpino Renals and a sister, Palmina Urgo.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Tena Scorzelli Renals; 3 daughters, Lisa and her husband Edward Isganitis of Holmdel, Diane Renals of Eatontown and Lori Renals and her husband James Pratt of Red Bank; 2 grandsons, Kevin and Brian Isganitis and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Saturday and from 10 am until 11 am Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to VNA of Central Jersey, 1100 Wayside Road, Wayside, NJ 07712 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
