Joan Szulecki Donatiello, of Ocean Township, died Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.















Born in Perth Amboy, she in Union for years before moving to Ocean Township in 1993.















Mrs. Donatiello was a gifted and talented teacher and a 5th Grade teacher for the Union Township Board of Education at the Connecticut Farms Elementary School retiring in 1992 after 25 years. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School in Perth Amboy, Georgian Court College in Lakewood and received a masters degree from Kean University in Union. She was a communicant of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch and a member of the NJEA and NEA.















She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Valentina Szulecki; her brothers and sisters, Lucille, Regina, Mary, Leon and Father Raymond Szulecki.































Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Pat; son, Mark of Montclair; daughter, Joan and her husband Ernie Fredericks of Plaistow, NH; sister, Claire Walkoczy of Iselin; brother, Edward Szulecki, Jr. of Manalapan and 2 granddaughters, Elise and Michelle.































Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Wednesday at St. Jerome Church, West Long Branch followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sayreville
