Obituary

Obituary for James F. Huse

James Frederick Huse
Deceased January 12, 2019

A September day 66 years ago saw the birth of James Frederick Huse in western New Jersey. As he grew older, Jim found he had a great interest in music. Becoming quite skilled in playing guitar, he joined a band while still in his teen years. This love of music was something he would later in life find great joy in spending many happy hours passing on to his beloved twin grandsons Anthony and Nicholas. He could be seen tapping in time to the music throughout all his years.

When he was in his early twenties, Jim’s life took a turn that brought him the greatest joy in his life: he began his study of the Bible. Being an atheist, he even took to researching in his local library to see if historical records coincided with what he came to learn and firmly believe in his heart was the inspired word of Almighty God Jehovah. It was during this period of his initial study of the Bible that he met and fell in love with the young woman who would become his wife, Angela. After both having dedicated themselves to serving Jehovah and his becoming baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses early in the year 1976, they sealed their love in marriage in early autumn that same year.

During those early years of Jim’s service to Jehovah, his favorite scripture was, “Be wise, my son, and make my heart rejoice, So that I can make a reply to him who taunts me.” (Proverbs 27:11) Jim remained faithful in his service to his heavenly Father throughout his life. He had the privilege of serving Jehovah in the full-time ministry, as a ministerial servant in the congregation, and as an elder. Jim was even blessed with the privilege and pleasure of playing his guitar for International Convention delegates at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Assembly Hall in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Along with their little daughter Jennifer, together Jim and Angie’s life story took them over the years to Louisiana, Oregon, and Florida before returning to New Jersey. Twenty-one years ago saw another joy enter Jim’s life: the birth of his twin grandsons. He took great delight in teaching Anthony and Nicholas and in caring for them much as a father lovingly would his own, sharing his love of music and playing and teaching them guitar, playing endless games of ping-pong and pool with them, and spending time at the seashore where he made so many happy memories. But most of all, he made sure to instill in his grandsons that most important love for Almighty God, helping them see for themselves by searching the Holy Scriptures the wonderful life-giving truths about Jehovah.

Most important to Jim was his making a good name with his God Jehovah. He had a very firm faith in the resurrection hope and in the Paradise earth soon to come, where, “No resident will say: ‘I am sick.’” And where, “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away…Look! I am making all things new.” (Isaiah 33:24; Revelation 21:4, 5) God’s promises are what helped sustain him throughout his life and most of all, through his time of fighting illness at the end of his life; this hope continues to sustain his family. Jim’s favorite part of the Bible were the verses of the book of Psalms, their beautiful words of praise and encouragement.

There are many stories of Jim’s extending kindness and support to others, sharing fun times and stories, which in turn, made even new stories. Indeed, those who had the opportunity to really get to know Jim have much to tell. He gave so much of himself to so many, touched countless lives with his generous spirit, always greeted those he knew and those he did not with his bright, warm smile and friendly, “Hello!” Though not rich materially, he was rich spiritually, in faith, kindness, and love for others.

Jim passed away knowing the memory of his life and who he was would be safe in the hands of his Jehovah, his Grand Creator. His loved ones, who would enjoy hearing and sharing stories of James’ life, are his dear wife Angela Huse, precious grandsons Anthony and Nicholas Robinson, daughter Jennifer Luznar, his siblings, and a number of nieces and nephews. James Frederick Huse was indeed dear to so many he touched throughout his life, and as he did, we, too, look forward to a time when we can see and be with him once again in a joyous Paradise earth, when life will be everlasting and the music will never come to an end.

The family would like to take this opportunity to express their thanks for all the consideration shown them throughout such a difficult time. Especially for all the prayers shared with all of them and prayers offered on their behalf. There will be a memorial discourse at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019. It will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1409 West Park Avenue, Tinton Falls/Ocean Township, New Jersey 07712, where visitation with the family will also take place. Afterward, friends and family can gather in The Great Room of the West Long Branch Community Center, 116 Locust Avenue, West Long Branch, New Jersey 07764 (732-870-1549).
