Hugh V. McCann, 74, of Shrewsbury, died Tuesday, January 5, 2015 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.

He was born in Newark and lived in Newark, Hazlet and Irvington before moving to Shrewsbury 17 years ago.

He was a welder for Guyon Steel in Harrison and later a driver for Reagent Chemical Company in Ringoes. He was a member of the Red Bank Elks.

He was predeceased by his wife, Maryann Mellilo McCann in 2002 and his parents, Joseph and Lucille Coswell McCann.

Surviving are his daughter, Linda Mangione Rich and 3 grandchildren, Carmella Perego Anthony and her husband Brian, Janine Perego and Timothy Rich and 2 great-grandsons, Brian Anthony, Jr. and Landon Anthony.
