Obituary for Hildegard M. Petzold

Hildegard Petzold, 94, of Oakhurst passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Manor by the Sea in Ocean Grove. Hilde was born in Dresden, Germany in 1921. She emigrated with her husband and two children to the USA in 1956 and settled in Queens, New York. She raised her children and worked in sales, first at Bremen House, a German import store in Ridgewood, Queens, and then at Bloomingdales in Manhattan. In 2008, she came to New Jersey to live with her son and his family. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and needlecrafts. In her 80's, Hilde began to paint and was quite prolific in a Grandma Moses style...winning awards at the Monmouth County Fair. She was predeceased by her husband, Jury in 1999. Hilde is survived by her son, Olaf and his wife Candy and grandson, Matthew; she is also survived by her daughter, Dagmar Bucci and her husband Rick and grandchildren, Thomas, Tanya, Peter, Theodore, Diana and Nicholas and 11 great-grandchildren. She will surely be missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 pm Monday with funeral services beginning at 7:30 pm at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
