Obituary for Grace Warren

Grace M. Warren, 93, of Eatontown, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at home.
She was born in Long Branch and lived in Elberon, Florida and Oakhurst before moving to Eatontown.

She retired in 1980 as a sales clerk from Sears Department Store in Asbury Park after many years. She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in West End, Long Branch and a former communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Deal.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Warren and her beloved companion, Hal Martin; her parents, James and Mary Maguire and her brothers and sisters, Margaret Tweedie, Agnes Jones, Charlotte Barg, Francis Maguire, Cornelia Peterson, James Maguire and Patricia Martin.

Surviving are her sister, Mary Connaughy of Long Branch and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who loved her very much, as did everyone who knew her. She had many wonderful caring friends and we thank them all for their kindness and thoughtfulness to her. We also want to thank Carol Holding for the terrific care she provided for Grace throughout the past year-she was a godsend.

Grace was a fun-loving and generous lady, whose greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends. She loved to dance, and was the most wonderful cook and baker. We will miss her sense of humor, her delicious food, and the beautiful cards we always received for birthdays and holidays-she never forgot anyone’s special day!

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Friday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road in Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Saturday at St. Mary’s Church in Deal. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be made to American Cancer Society, 801 Broad Street, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702 or to a charity of your choice.
