Gertrude B. Wilke Smentkowski, 79, of Eatontown, died Friday, June 3, 2011 at home.

She was born in Secaucus and has lived in Eatontown for the past 40 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Gertrude Wilke.

Surviving are 7 sons, William and his wife Wendy, Charlie and his wife Rosemary, John and his wife Jyl, Joseph, Dennis and his wife Robin, Edward and Michael and his former wife Amy; 3 daughters, Patricia Wintersteen and her husband James, Diane Coles and her husband Jim and Nancy Kluin and her husband Craig; 2 brothers, Charles Wilke and James Wilke and his wife Joy; 2 sisters, Carol Murphy and her husband Jim and Patricia Coates and her husband Bill; 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 5-9 pm Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral 9 am Tuesday from the funeral home followed by at 10 am Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DAV
