Frank S. Hettel, 60, of Jackson, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation in Shrewsbury.

He was born in Passaic and lived in North Carolina and Delaware before moving to Jackson.

He retired from the US Navy as a First Class Petty Officer in 1989 after 20 years of service. He then worked at Lockheed Martin in East Windsor in the quality assurance department. His last employment was working for the Bordentown Correctional Center before retiring. He was a member of the American Legions in Dover, Delaware and in Beverly NJ.

He was predeceased by his father, Frank J. Hettel.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Ann Massaro Hettel; his mother, Marilyn Hettel; 7 children, Frankie II, Patrick, Jeffrey and Randall Hettel, Stephen and Christopher Heine and Lisa Heine Pigg; brother, Patrick Hettel; sisters, Louise Lanzarotti and Marilyn Hettel and 16 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 11 am Thursday at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Arrangements are by the Fiore Funeral Home, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
