Father John T. Kielb was born on April 10, 1948, the son of Anne M. and John Kielb in Bayonne, NJ. He had one bother, Thomas. His parents as well as his brother predeceased Father Kielb.







Father attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Bayonne and Marist High School, Bayonne. He prepared for the priesthood at Seton Hall University and St. Vincent's College and Seminary, Latrobe PA (from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Divinity degree). Father was ordained priest by the Most Reverend George W. Ahr, Bishop of Trenton at St. Mary Cathedral, Trenton, NJ, on May 17, 1975. Following ordination, Father served as parochial vicar at Sacred Heart Parish, South Amboy, NJ; parochial vicar at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, West Freehold, NJ; parochial vicar at St. Gabriel Parish, Marlboro, NJ; parochial vicar at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Trenton, NJ; and as temporary administrator and then pastor of Precious Blood Parish, Monmouth Beach, NJ. From May, 1983 to May 1986 Father served on the Diocesan Continuing Education of Priests Committee. Finally, Fr. Kielb served for a two year period, commencing July 1, 1987, as an Engaged Encounter Team Priest.







In 2011, Father moved and was living in the diocesans priests retirement residence, Villa Vianney in Lawrenceville, until his death on March 27, 2013. He is survived by his uncle, John Sieczkowski of Arizona and several cousins.



Reception of the Body will be on Wednesday, April 3 at the Roman Catholic Church of the Precious Blood, 72 Riverdale Avenue, Monmouth Beach at 4 pm with visiting until 7:30 pm followed by Evening Prayers. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 4 at 10 am in the church with the Most Reverend David M. O'Connell officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington
