COLARINA “CAROL” MONGIOVI, 90, of Little Silver, died Friday, November 19, 2010 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch.



She was born in Newark and lived there before moving to Little Silver 30 years ago.



Mrs. Mongiovi was a meat packer for Swift & Schichaus in Kearny before retiring. She was a communicant of the Roman Catholic Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven.



She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony in 1993 and her parents, Jerome and Maria Piano DiGiovanni.



Surviving are her daughters, Amelia Vassallo and her husband Nick of Old Bridge, Maria Romano and her husband Anthony of Little Silver and Tina Bauer and her husband Joseph of Bloomfield; sons, Angelo Mongiovi of New York and Jerome Mongiovi and his wife Patricia of PA; brother, Angelo DiGiovanni of Little Egg Harbor; sister, Antoinette Sferlazzo of Long Branch; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 3 pm to 7 pm Sunday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:45 am Monday at St. Lucy's Roman Catholic Church, 118 7th Avenue, Newark followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
