Chester Fronczek, 89, of Long Branch died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.
He was born in Chicago, IL and lived there until 1944 when he joined the US Navy. He served as a lieutenant and was stationed overseas in both occupied Japan and Korea. He enlisted in the Naval Reserves until 1964. He lived in Long Branch since 1950. He was an air traffic controller at the Naval Air Base in Lakehurst, a realtor for Weichert Realtors in Toms River and a parimutuel clerk at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport. He was a member of the Ocean County Board of Realtors, member of the Military Officers Association of America, member of Local 137 Laborers International and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine Bova Fronczek in 2008, his parents, John and Julia Bobel Fronczek and brothers, Henry and Father Louis Fronczek OFM. Surviving are his children, Christopher Fronczek of Prospect Park, PA, Stephanie Nolan of Eatontown and Denise Fronczek of Wall; brother, Casimir and his wife Alice Fronczek of Niles,IL and 2 grandsons, Philip Nolan and Christopher Fronczek and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit 2-4 & 7-9 pm Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral 9 am Tuesday from the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. Entombment at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Barnabas Hospice, 300 Second Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
