Carmela Marra, 97 of Oceanport, died Friday, April 4, 2014 at Seaford Center in Seaford, Delaware.



She was born in Long Branch and lived in Oceanport for the past 80 years. She was a communicant of St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church in Eatontown. Carmela enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and traveling. She was very active with her circle of friends and was well liked. She was a self-employed seamstress.



She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Frank Marra in 2005; her parents, Joseph and Barbara Sacco Vitaliano and her brothers, William and Dominick Vitaliano.



Surviving are her children, Ralph and his wife Anne Marra of Oceanport and Linda and her husband Alan Johnson of Seaford, DE; her sister, Katherine Sparandeo of West Long Branch; sisters-in-law, Barbara Aschettino and Josephine Marra; brother-in-law, Pasquale Attanasio; 5 grandchildren, Ralph Marra, Jr., Robert Marra, Suzanne Marra, Kenneth Fujimoto and Samantha Fujimoto; 8 great-grandchildren; her devoted caretaker, Natalia and many nieces and nephews.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral 9 am Wednesday from the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Dorothea's Church in Eatontown. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in OCeanport.
