Asta Doering, 87, of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was born in Ahrensboek, Germany and lived in Oakhurst since emigrating to the US in 1952.
She worked at Concurrent Computer Corporation in Oceanport for many years before her retirement.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hans G. in 1979 and 2 sons, John in 1978 and Hans H. in 2003.
Surviving are her daughter, Karin and her husband David Poorvin of Oakhurst; brother, Horst Stender of Germany; 3 grandchildren, Leo and his wife Shawn Lewis of Cummings, GA, Hans of Oakhurst and Emily Rose of Houston, TX and 2 great-grandsons, Faolan and Killian Poorvin.
Arrangements are private from the Fiore Funeral Home, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Anyone wishing to remember her is invited to make a donation in her memory to a favorite charity or to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontonw, NJ 07724. Please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
