Anthony Vitalone, 90, of Long Branch, died Sunday, March 13th, 2011 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch.







He was born in Elm and lived there for 18 years before moving to Long Branch where he resided for the next 72 years.



He was a member of the Long Branch Elks and a former trustee, volunteer fireman for Atlantics of the Long Branch Fire Department and a communicant of Christ the King Parish, Long Branch.







He was self employed.







He was predeceased by his parents: Angelo and Marie Lanza Vitalone, his wife, Rose Mazza Vitalone in 1989 and his son, John Anthony Vitalone in 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Marie Szmania and husband, Andrew of Monmouth Beach, his grandson, John Anthony Vitalone, Jr. of Long Branch, his sisters, Laura Medora of Winslow and Helen Wooton of West Virginia and many nephews and nieces.







Relatives and friends are invited visit 2-4 & 7-9 pm Friday at Fiore Funeral Home 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral 8:30 am Saturday from the funeral home followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Saint Barnabas Hospice, 300 Second Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740
