Obituary for Alexander J. "Bottom" Cosentino

Alexander J. Cosentino, “Bottom”, 91, a lifelong resident West Long Branch, died Thursday at home.

He owned and operated Tino’s Esso in West Long Branch and then became maintenance manager at Peter Cooper Village in West Long Branch from 1978 until retiring in 1997. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II, an exempt member of the West Long Branch Fire Company #2, West Long Branch and a communicant of Christ the King Parish (Holy Trinity Church) in Long Branch. He enjoyed gardening.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Siciliano Cosentino in 2006; his parents, John and Lucy Cosentino; 3 brothers, Tony, Paul and Emilio and a sister, Gloria Guidetti.

Surviving are his sons, John, Alex and his wife Linda and Anthony and his wife Grace Cosentino all of West Long Branch; sister, Marie Godshall of West Long Branch; 4 grandchildren, Cindy and her husband Tom Katula, John and his wife Annie Cosentino, Scott and Kristin Cosentino and 3 great-grandchildren, Alaiza, Alexander and Nicholas.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 pm Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Tuesday at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Burial will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to West Long Branch Fire Company # 2, Oceanport Avenue, West Long Branch, NJ 07764.
