John N. Nucci, Sr., 84, of Long Branch, died Thursday, October 20, 2016.

He was born and raised in Red Bank before moving to Long Branch 62 years ago.

He was a parimutual clerk at Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford before retiring. After his retirement, he worked security at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Rose Nucci and 2 sisters, Minerva and Philomena.

Surviving are his children, Nicholas, John, Michael, Anthony Nucci and Cathie and her husband Cesare Simonelli; 5 grandchildren, Madyson, Alyssa, Alexa, Joseph and Giana and a great-grandson, Jayden.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 1-5 pm Sunday the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Monday at St. Jerome’s Church in West Long Branch followed by entombment at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport.
