"A devoted husband, father and friend"

Thomas Paul Schober, of Rumson, NJ, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, surrounded by his family and loved ones at the age of 61 after a short term battle with colon and intestinal cancer. Thomas was born on November 26, 1954 at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey. Thomas was a lifelong resident of New Jersey, residing in Weehawken and attending Weehawken High School and then Montclair State University. He was married to the love of his life and his high school sweetheart, Deborah Fletcher, on April 2, 1977. They resided in Maywood, New Jersey as Thomas worked as a financial broker. He made a successful living and he and Deborah moved to Marlboro, NJ followed by Rumson, NJ where they planted permanent roots with their four beautiful children. Thomas worked professionally in Freehold, New Jersey, up until he became ill. Thomas' true passion was his love and devotion to his family. He was an active, loving husband, father, grandfather and family man. Thomas was a generous man who enjoyed nothing more than spending time and making memories with his wife, children and grandchildren, laughing and sharing family experiences. His friendliness and kindness to all people and devotion to his love for animals is a tribute to the beauty of his giving heart and soul. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him and calling him a friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah, his eldest son Thomas A. Schober, his eldest daughter Kristen, her husband Jaime Shirazi, son Michael Schober and his wife Jennifer, and daughter Victoria Schober and boyfriend Jeremy Wells. Thomas is survived by his grandsons, Hudson Shirazi and Michael Schober, Jr. He leaves behind his beloved companion and friend, his yellow lab, King Normie.

Viewing services will be held at Fiore Funeral Home,236 Monmouth Road in Oakhurst, NJ on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church in Rumson, NJ on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:30am. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Defensa Animal de Rincon (DAR), defensarincon.org and Animal Rescue Foundation of Rincon (ARF), arfrincon.org.
