Sara Margaret Garrity, 23, of Ocean Township, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Sara was born in Long Branch and lived most of her life in Ocean, except for the four and a half years she made her life in the Myrtle Beach area.
Sara was a graduate of Ocean Township High School in Ocean. She went on to pursue a major in Sports and Exercise Science at Coastal Carolina University, where she was currently a senior. She worked part-time at the Ale House and Dirty Deb’s, Conway, SC, whose owners took her under their wings. Growing up, Sara played soccer, hung out with lifelong friends, and during the summer, she could be found down at Village Beach in Loch Arbour, where she was an avid boogie boarder, especially during “red flag.”
Sara is survived by her parents, Alma and Richard, her twin, Lauren and sister, Allison, along with her dogs Forrest and Chester, her cat, Jerry, and her bird, Frida. She is also survived by her many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sara's spirit lives on through her generous gift as an organ donor, already giving the gift of life to several recipients.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4 to 8 pm Friday, Dec. 26 at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, in Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral service on Saturday, Dec. 27th at 10 am at the Asbury Park Salvation Army Corps, 605 Asbury Avenue, Asbury Park with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
