Obituary for Emilio Cosentino

Emilio A. Cosentino, 83, of West Long Branch, died peacefully at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.

He was born in West Long Branch and lived most of his life. He lived in Coral Springs, Florida for six years before returning to West Long Branch 3 years ago.

He co-owned along with his brother, Alex, Exxon Service Station in West Long Branch before working for New Jersey Natural Gas for 20 years before retiring as a garage foreman in 1986.

He was a communicant of Christ the King Parish of Holy Trinity Church in Long Branch and was a life member and served as a Fire Chief in 1972 of the West Long Branch Fire Company #2 and the Eatontown Elks. He was a US Navy veteran.

He was predeceased by his wife, Florence in 2013; his parents, John and Lucy Cosentino; brothers, Anthony L. and Paul S. “Pitt” Cosentino; sister, Gloria “Dolly” Guidetti and step-son, Mitchell Schnider.

Surviving are his brother, Alex “Bottoms” Cosentino and sister, Marie Godshall of West Long Branch; step-daughter, Dale Hunt (Tom) of Florida; 4 step-grandchildren, Alison, Lisa, Tracy and Mitchell; 7 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 pm Thursday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road in Oakhurst. Funeral Mass will be offered at 8:30 am Friday at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
