Obituary for Daslin Sutherland

Daslin V. Sutherland, 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at home.

She was born in Port Antonio, Jamaica, West Indies and has lived in Long Branch since 1980.

Daslin graduated Shortwood Teachers College in Kingston Jamaica and taught at three elementary schools before immigrating to the United States in 1980. She was employed by American Standard in Piscataway, NJ as a Bookkeeper and retired in 2011.

She was predeceased by her son, Michael, her parents, Lorenzo and Madeline Sutherland.
Daslin is survived by her devoted daughter, Nicole Wedderburn; her brothers, George Sutherland, Lloyd and his wife Maureen Sutherland; her sisters, Hyacinth and her husband Lloyd Bernard, Beverley and her husband G. John Nettleford and Gloria and her husband Howard Beale; her aunt, Laura Rodney, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, September 19 from 10 am until her funeral service at 11 am at Collingwood Park Seventh Day Adventist Church; 276 Shark River Road, Tinton Falls. Entombment will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to Collingwood Park Seventh Day Adventist Church, 276 Shark River Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07753 in her memory.
