Obituary for Marco DiMitri

Marco DiMitri, 93, of Ocean Township, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at home.
He was born in Monreale, Sicily and came to the United States in 1954 living in Lodi before moving to Ocean in 1968.

He was a tailor at Braddock’s Men’s Store at Monmouth Mall in Eatontown for 31 years before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Asbury Park Elks and the Italian American Association of the Township of Ocean and a communicant of Holy Innocents Roman Catholic Church in Neptune.

He was predeceased by his parents, Filippo and Marianna DiMitri.

Surviving are his wife, Lucy Laviola DiMitri; daughter, Fran Sangi; son, Phil and his wife Jackie DiMitri all of Ocean; a sister, Frances LaScala; 2 brothers, Frank and Diego DiMitri and 4 grandchildren, Laura and Frank Sangi and Anthony and Elena DiMitri.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road in Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Tuesday at Holy Innocents Church in Neptune. Burial will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Lodi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to the March of Dimes (www.marchofdimes.org). Please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com for condolences.
