Obituary for Tina Fiore

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our matriarch, Tina Fiore. She passed away peacefully at home with those who loved her on Friday, the 25th of January 2019. She was born the 25th of June 1941 and raised in Fondi, Latina, Italy and arrived in Long Branch in 1961 with her mother and sister. She moved to West Long Branch in 1976. She was a seamstress by trade, working in the garment business for many years before retiring. She also was instrumental in establishing the Fiore Funeral Homes in West Long Branch and in Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Tina was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and a communicant of Christ the King Parish at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Long Branch. She enjoyed visiting her hometown in Italy with her family and also enjoyed the winters in West Palm Beach, Florida.
She was predeceased by loved ones whom she missed deeply: her husband of 50 years, Fred Fiore, Sr.; her parents, Antonio and Maddalena Cafolla; sister, Eleanora Fiore; brothers, Antonio, Vincenzo and Fernando Cafolla and nephew, Enzo Cafolla.
Surviving are her children, Fred Fiore, Jr., Anna Farro and Anthony Fiore; her loving and dedicated grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Stefanie Fiore, Diane-Lauren Fiore, Matthew Fiore and Valentina Farro; her beautiful great-granddaughter, Robbiella Fiore; son-in-law, Marc Farro; her loving sisters, Ernestina (Joseph) Coccurello and Alba (Rosario) Zocco; sisters-in-law, Loreta Cafolla, Franceschina Cafolla, Mary Fiore and Carol Fiore; brother-in-law, Edward Fiore and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Our family would like to thank the nurses and aides who assisted and cared for our mom the past seven months, especially Sherri, Kim and Sabine. To our good friend, Father Dan Swift, for the Sacrament of the Sick on Thursday afternoon. To our family and friends who were there with us, especially her loving niece, Carol Zocco and dear friend and neighbor, Phyllis Plesnarski, who came whenever we called for help. A big “Thank You” from the bottom of our hearts.
Please come and visit with our family on Friday, the 1st of February, as we open our doors to our family and friends from three o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Then please join us again on Saturday, the 2nd of February, at eleven o’clock in the morning as we celebrate her life with a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church at 408 Prospect Street in Long Branch.
