Obituary for Theodore J. Bartels
Theodore “Tedd” Bartels, 84, a lifelong resident of Long Branch, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
He was a parimutuel clerk at Freehold Raceway for many years before retiring in 1992.
Tedd was a member of the VFW Post 2140, Long Branch Elks #742, IAMA, Long Branch Fire Police and the Independent Engine & Truck Company #2 of the Long Branch Fire Department. He was also a member of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation in West Long Branch. He served in the Air Force Reserves.
He was predeceased by his parents, Theodor and Anita Bartels and a sister, Bernita Bulwan.
Surviving is his wife Agnes Andolino; son, TJ Bartels; daughters, Jeannie Smith and Carolee and Heidi Bartels; 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-7 pm Monday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Entombment will be held privately for the family.
