Sandra Baker Herig, 63, of Wall Township, passed away at home after a lengthy illness on Friday, June 13, 2014 with her husband and daughter at her side.

Born in Long Branch, she grew up in West Long Branch and lived in Asbury Park before moving to Wall Township in 1998.

She was a graduate of Shore Regional High School and the Ann May School of Nursing. After 10 years of nursing, she decided to pursue her passion for antiques and became an antique trader along the Jersey Shore. Her love of antiques and animals were present in every room of her home.

Sandi played in a co-ed softball league and was an avid bowler. She earned the title of Monmouth County Bowler of the Year in the 1970's.

In the 80's, Sandi met and married the love of her life, Joe Herig. Together they celebrated their 25th anniversary last October.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Jean Wilhide and her grandparents, Retired Chief of the Long Branch Police Department Bob and Bert Gurley.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe; her beloved daughter, Kim Baker of Oceanport; her sisters, Carol Lynch of West Long Branch and Susan Farry of Ocean Grove; her niece, Meghan Lynch and her nephews, Billy Lynch and Brian Farry and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Tom Page of Brick.

Sandi was funny, loving and always had a tall tale to tell. She is finally at peace and her family sends their love with her.
