Obituary for Russell A. Gilson
Russell A. Gilson, 81, of Tinton Falls, NJ entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mt. Holly, NJ. He was born in Red River, WI and had resided in Ocean Twp. before moving to Tinton Falls in 2017.
Mr. Gilson worked as an electrical engineer for the Dept of the Army at Ft. Monmouth retiring in 1994 after 33 yrs. of service. He was also a data base developer for DLB Associates in Eatontown for 15 yrs. retiring in 2009.
Mr. Gilson was a communicant of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch, a member of IEEE, Eatontown and MIMIC, Ft. Monmouth. He also enjoyed gourmet cooking, tennis, playing the guitar and had a great passion for computers.
Mr. Gilson was pre-deceased by his wife Sandy Gilson in 2013 and his sister Dolores Smits. He is survived by his son, Greg and wife Susan Gilson of Trumbull, CT; his daughters Sue and husband Joseph Lemanowicz of Ocean Twp. NJ and Missy and husband Ken Desroches of Atlanta, GA along with his grandchildren, Holly, Catherine, Trevor, Joseph, Lindsey, Conner and Allison.
Relatives & friends are invited to call at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Rd. Oakhurst, NJ on Sunday from 4 – 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday Jan. 21 at 10 AM from St. Michael’s RC Church, West End, Long Branch. Entombment will take place in Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport, NJ.
