Obituary for Rosemarie F Rapacki

Rosemarie Rapacki, 93 passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo, just a few weeks ago in April, 2021. They were a few weeks shy of celebrating their 71st wedding anniversary.
She met her future husband on a blind date, meeting at a roller skating rink. She was not impressed. His roller skate broke and he fell. That didn’t stop her and she continued to skat away. They were married a year and some months later. The lived with warmth, humor, and kindness to others, which they passed on to their children.
Rosemarie enjoyed giving back to the community. She was a member for many years of the NJ Women’s Club of Maplewood, NJ, where she was honored for her passionate volunteer spirit.
After moving to Ocean County, Rosemarie continued to be active in the community and Church. Rosemarie was instrumental in founding the Lake Ridge unit of the KMC Auxiliary and was honored as their “Auxilian of the Year”. She was the first Membership Chairman and Volunteer Liaison. She was also famous for trying to save money. Rosemarie would happily wash anything instead of throwing it out and reusing it later. An Environmentalist before her time!
Rosemarie was a woman of deep faith. For several years, she embroidered bibs for newly baptized infants in her parish. She attended Mass regularly.
Rosemarie is survived by her 4 children: Daughters Kathleen Bessinger and Bernadette Braun, Sons, Leo B. Rapacki and daughter in law Linda, Robert Rapacki and daughter in law Kelly and 1 sister, Stella Konopka and brother in law Paul. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
