Obituary for Roberta Collins

Roberta Collins of Loch Arbour, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Roberta was born on June 5, 1940, in Baltimore, MD. She spent her childhood in Maryland and then moved to New Jersey with her mother Margaret (Peggy), her father Robert (Lou), sister Jeanetta and other close relatives. Roberta is a graduate of Long Branch High School, class of 1958.

Roberta married Tom in 1963 and made a home in Oakhurst, NJ, for almost 30 years before relocating to Loch Arbour in the summer of 1991. While residing in Oakhurst, Roberta and Tom raised two sons, Tommy and John, while her greatest joy was her time spent with her four grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Roberta and Tom were founding members of the Orthodox Christian Church of the Annunciation in Brick, NJ, where Roberta shared her beautiful gift of song in the choir.

Roberta was a dedicated civil servant serving nearly 30 years with the US Department of the Army at Fort Monmouth, most notably as an executive assistant to a Two Star General.

Roberta is predeceased by her husband Tom; and is survived by her son Tommy and fiancée Jennifer; her son John and wife Jennifer; her grandchildren Abigail, Allison, Jillian and Alex, her sister and brother in-law Jeanetta and Richard and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be privately held.
