Robert (Bob) Nelson age 87 passed away peacefully July 26, 2021 at Manor by The Sea, Ocean Grove. He was born in Jersey City. He was the son of Andrew and Florence (Nuber). Bob grew up in Elizabeth and spent many happy summers in Stoney Brook, Long Island with his family. He attended the Pingry School and the United States Naval Academy. After leaving the service he entered the engineering filed becoming the Traffic Engineer for the Garden State Parkway. At that time he was involved in the traffic flow of The Arts Center in its early stages.He was the owner and President of Nelson Engineering Associates, Neptune. He was a member of Deal Golf and Country Club. He is survived by his beloved wife Cathy, Daughter, Susan, son, Robert Jr. (Karen), much loved granddaughter, Emily and his sister, Muriel Hinkle (Stonington, CN). His brother David predeceased him. Many thanks to all of the staff at the Manor for the wonderful care given and their kindness to him as well as the family. A Memorial Service will be held in the near future.
