Obituary for Peter Pallotto

Peter Pallotto, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Allegria at Ocean Grove, with family by his side, at the age of 91. Peter was a lifelong resident of Asbury Park and Neptune and retired in 1992 after working for many years at the Ocean Township Municipal Building and Library. Peter loved to travel to San Diego and Italy to see his family. Family was the most important thing to him, and he loved all his nieces and nephews like they were his own children. For years, he enjoyed his daily walks on the Asbury Park Boardwalk with his twin brother, Carmen, and he always greeted everyone with a smile. He also enjoyed going to dinner with family, loved to go dancing, and got great pleasure handicapping the horses at Monmouth Park Racetrack. He was an avid Yankee fan who was proud to have attended the only perfect World Series game in 1956. Peter served three years in the U.S. Army in the 838th Engineer Aviation Battalion in Panama. He was a life-long communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Asbury Park as well as a member of the BPOE Elks #128 in Asbury Park and the American Legion in Neptune. Uncle Pete was always ready to help family or friends who were in need. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Ercole and Carmel Pallotto, and his brothers, Angelo, Ercole “Bozo”, and his twin, Carmen. He was also predeceased by his nephews, John, Tony and Chris Pallotto, and Louis Valente. He is survived by his beloved sister, Dolores Valente, Tinton Falls. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Joseph Pallotto and his wife, Maureen, Asbury Park, James Valente and his wife, Debra, Neptune; Cindy Pallotto; Michael Pallotto and his wife, Celia; Peter Pallotto and his wife, Joan; Angelo Pallotto and his wife Sherrill, all of San Diego; Virginia Mangold and her husband, James, of Mount Vernon, Missouri; and Susan Valente of Barnegat. He is also survived by many cousins, great nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held Friday May 14, 20201 9:00 Am - 10:00 Am. Buckley Funeral Home. 509 Second Ave, Asbury Park. A Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Asbury Park. Interment immediately following Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Neptune.
