Obituary for Paul J. Rolleri

Paul James Rolleri, 75, a beloved husband, father, Papa, and brother, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Born to the late Margaret and Edward Rolleri, he grew up in Newark, New Jersey with his brother, Edward. Paul led a life of service, family, and community.

Paul dedicated his life to public service as a law enforcement officer with the East Orange Police Department for 35 years, rising to the rank of lieutenant, and served five years as Chief Investigator for the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office.

Paul spent 20 years as a board member of the Shore Regional Board of Education and served as President as well. Paul coached, volunteered, and dedicated his time to the Oceanport Recreation Department, the Special Olympics, and various other organizations.

Paul loved his time at the Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport. He was an avid Yankee and Notre Dame fan and could often be found watching his favorite teams or vintage films, and lived by Vince Lombardi’s words, “leaders are made not born.” Paul will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Above all else, Paul loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Eileen (nee Meola), his son, Philip, and his wife, Alison, his daughter Marla, and her husband, Sal, and his adoring grandchildren, Silvia Volpe, Marco Volpe, Noah Rolleri, and Jude Rolleri. He is also survived by his brother, Edward, his sisters and brothers in law, Joseph and Phyllis Meola, and John and Deborah Perri, and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-6 pm Friday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township.
