She was born in Long Branch and lived in Tinton Falls before moving to Toms River in 2011.
She was a counselor for Easter Seals in Long Branch before her retirement.
Muriel was predeceased by her daughter, Shanlonda Pierce; her parents, Harvey and Alfreda Pierce; her brothers, Mark and Melvin Pierce and her sisters, Joyce Pierce and Rita Simmons.
Surviving is her daughter, Charvonne Pierce; her sisters, Phyllis Agboyibor and Marion and Deborah Pierce; her brother, Harvey Pierce; 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
